ABOUT ME

"I always believed that the strategic cooperation among phenomenally different scientific fields, can lead to dramatically more productive approaches in contemporary scientific challenges. Art can be the glue that brings all these intellectual yet scattered and radically different parts together, making them easily approachable by the largest possible audience, no matter the educational and financial background."

Pournaras Efthymios P. graduated from Yiagtzion-Delmouzion High School of Amfissa. He holds a BSc (Diploma) of Physics with an expertise on Nuclear & Particles' Physics from the Department of the same name and also a MSc Diploma in Bioinformatics from the Department of Biology/Sector of Cell Biology & Biophysics both belonging to the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He is currently studying Applied Risk Management at MSc level in the Department of Economics of the same university.

Efthymios is a self-taught artist with drawing and painting being his lifelong hobbies. He is holding a training certificate on the Theory and Practise of Street Art as well as on the History of Western Art (Renaissance to the Modern Era) from the Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (CCE/KEDIVIM) of NKUA. He is currently studying Comics Creation (History, Texting, Genres and Narrative Techniques) and Byzantine Painting (Creative hagiography: Composition and drawing techniques).

He has experimented with various materials through the years, but the graphite and charcoal pencils remain his favourite media for artistic expression. He always showed his love towards fantastic creatures via the creation of comics and sort stories (mostly for family entertainment) of three heroes: the creepy GAGRENA, the purplish creature MUMUTI and the funny and bizarre persona Beaucoup d' Argent. Maybe, this is the reason behind his tendency to a neo-figurative surrealism when it comes to painting concepts of everyday life.
