Artist's statement:
- Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee, 2001.
The composition of the artwork is inspired by a famous quote from Bram Stoker’s Dracula, when Count Dracula meets his beloved Mina and cannot hold back his tears. The temporal gap between unexpected loss and reunion, shaped by a strange and inexplicable twist of fate, drains our inner energy and the will required for survival. Yet, true love transcends both physical and emotional hardship, and when it is real, it never dies.
But what happens when the one we love is the very person who rejects it, creating barriers of space and time?
